William Eric “Bill” Tackaberry passed away peacefully at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre on Friday, November 8, 2024, in his 95th year.
Bill worked for over 40 years in the Kingston hardware industry at Darlington’s, Rivett Architectural Hardware and Quindor. He was an avid hockey, baseball, golf and curling fan, and was a lifelong gardener, known to grow some of the best tasting, ugly tomatoes. He provided fresh flowers to the church for many years.
Deeply missed by his loving wife of 70 years, Florence (née Findon), his dedicated son Randy Tackaberry (Liane) and by cherished granddaughter Monika Tackaberry and her husband Michael Johnson. Survived and fondly remembered by his brother Blaine Tackaberry (Bonnie) and by many nieces and nephews and their families. Special thanks to Kim for being so helpful to the very end.
Bill was father/grandfather to Trevor Tackaberry (Crystal) and their daughters Leah and Lauren. He was predeceased by his sister Helen Weldon (late Ken) and brothers Gerald Tackaberry (Ann) and Robert Tackaberry (late Muriel).
Sadly Florence passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, 13 days after the passing of Bill. A joint Memorial Service will be held for Bill and Florence at Emmanuel United Church (63 Factory Street, Odessa) on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 11 am., with a reception following. For those desiring, memorial donations to Emmanuel United Church or Wilton Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements entrusted to Payne Funeral Home in Odessa. A private Interment will be held at Wilton Cemetery on a future date. Please share your memories and condolences to the family.
