Obituary
With heavy hearts and great sadness, we mourn the loss of Ellyn Anderson in her 88th year. Loving mother of Mary (Jamie Purves), proudest grandmother to Christopher (Emily Valentini) and Carol Purves, Sister, Aunt (Great & Great-Great), and warm friend of many.
Ellyn is predeceased by her wondrous son, Christopher John Anderson, her big sis, Mary Janet Rankin, and the love of her life, Robert Davis Anderson.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, she moved to Toronto in 1957 to start her family. Mom drew strength from her fierce love of family, friends, animals, nature and art. Her sense of humour was with her to the end!
Rounds of bridge, tennis and golf kept her busy with close pals. Junior League, The Garden Club of Toronto and volunteering at Sunnybrook Hospital expanded her connections to community. Her rose garden on Cheltenham Ave. was a show stopper!
A celebration of Ellyn’s life will be held at St. Clement’s Anglican Church on Wednesday, November 15th at twelve noon located at 70 St. Clements Ave., Toronto.
The family also wishes to recognize the loving care, support and dignity shown to Mom at Churchill Place Retirement Residence and Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada or the Toronto Humane Society.
