HAMERSMA: Hage “Hack”
Passed away suddenly while on vacation in Nova Scotia on Saturday August 3, 2024. Hage was retired from General Electric, Peterborough after a 40 plus year career. Hage was most proud of his family and treasured the moments that he spent being involved in their lives. He is loved and missed by his wife and best friend of 57 years, Judy Hamersma (nee Toms). Hage was cherished by his children Ron Hamersma (Theresa) of Douro and Julie English (Kevin) of Norwood. Loving grandpa of Justin (Emily Todd), Clayton (Laura Ham), Christi (Cam Morin), Rachel (Cole Mumford), Tori English and dear Opa of Brooklyn, Blair, Roman, Bowen and Riley. Survived by his brothers Bob Hamersma (Lee) of Nova Scotia, Weit Hamersma (Jennifer) of Lakefield, sisters Mary DeBruyn (the late Paul) of Nova Scotia, Jane Stelpstra (Art) of Burford, and several nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, NORWOOD CHAPEL, 36 Queen Street, Norwood on Thursday August 15, 2024 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday August 16 at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Norwood. Memorial donations may be made to Crohn’s & Colitis Canada as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-639-5322.
