Kasper Louws Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected, yet peaceful passing of Dan Louws, at his residence on October 14th, 2024 at the age of 58.
Dan will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Tracie (nee Cimek), his children: Alexander (Tamara), Jonathan (Alexis) and Matthew (Lauren), as well as Tracie’s children: Kelsey (Brandon), Matthew (Silvie), Tanner (Lindsay) and Aliyah (Kyle). Also mourning his loss are his mother Jackie, brother Len, sister Beth (Stephan), nephews William and Matthias and niece Carrie Lyn. He was the adored Opa D of Mya, Acelynn, Mason, Dane and Donny. He was looking forward to the birth of his granddaughter in November. He will also be missed by his brother in-law Shawn. Dan was predeceased by his father, Wilhelmus Louws. Most known for his work, Dan was the Co-Owner of Louws’ Kitchen and Bath Designs, where he handcrafted kitchens and bathrooms from scratch for those who trusted him. He had an incredible talent for fixing anything and executing any building project imaginable. His craftsmanship was not just a skill, but a reflection of the love and care he poured into every project, leaving a lasting legacy of resilience and creativity. He was one of the few people who loved talking about his work, and would share his knowledge and current passion projects with anyone who would listen.
To say that Dan was one of a kind is simply an understatement. His goodness touched everyone around him, and his spirit was one of pure compassion. The word ‘selfless’ feels as though it was created with him in mind, as he embodied the true meaning of the word in everything he did. His unwavering dedication to others was at the core of who he was. He was the glue that held everyone together, and in moments when spirits were low, he would offer optimism, solution and guidance. His lighthearted, happy-go-lucky personality had the ability to truly convince you that everything was going to be ok.
He possessed a gift for drawing others into the beauty of life’s simplest moments, appreciating them with the wonder and joy of a child discovering the world anew. Just days before his passing, he was fortunate enough to witness the Northern Lights, and, as was his nature, he looked up in awe, fully appreciating the beauty of our planet. This moment reflected his lifelong ability to find wonder in the world around him. It is a practice we should all strive to continue in his memory, finding wonder and gratitude in the everyday moments.
His demeanour embodied the gentle sound of a creek, flowing effortlessly and bringing a sense of peace and tranquility. His presence was like that soothing melody, offering comfort and calm to all who knew him. To have known Dan was a pleasure, To have been loved by Dan was a gift.
In honour of his profound love for nature, he has been laid to rest amongst the trees in a place where the sun rises and falls over him each day. This serene setting reflects his spirit and connection to the natural world, ensuring that he remains surrounded by the beauty he cherished throughout his life.
