John Cote Obituary
Cote, John Steven (1958-2024)
The family would like to announce the passing of John Steven Cote at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Monday, December 16, 2024 with his loving family by his side.
He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Brenda (nee Bahm) of 36 years. Proud father of Amanda (Jordan) Whalley and Steven. Loving grandpa to Ryleigh, Brynn and Dax. John Steven is survived by his sisters Susan and Wendy (Mark) Krevenky and his brothers-in-law Barry (Diane) and Brian (Cindy) Bahm.
He was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Linda Cote, his parents-in-law Roddie and Shirley Bahm and his most favourite child Jade, the German Shepherd.
He will be dearly missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and all who were privileged to know the jolly “Son of a Bear”.
At an early age, John joined the Canadian Armed Forces and then returned home in 1978 and began working at Sherman Mine in Temagami. In 1989, he began his 30+ year long career with the Ontario Provincial Police working at several detachments – Temagami, Sturgeon Falls and Powassan.
The family wishes to send special thanks to the Emergency staff and CCU staff for their amazing care and compassion.
A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Emmanuel United Church, North Bay or a charity of your choice.
