Shank, Gisèle (nee Robert)- It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gisèle at Water’s Edge Care Community on Saturday November 2nd, 2024 at the age of 85. She is predeceased by her late husband Pierre Shank. Loving mother of Danielle ( Fern ), Yves, Roch (Karen), and Gerard Charrette. Beloved grandmother of Pascal Shank- Roy and Keith Charrette. She is survived by her siblings Huguette Desgroseillers (Raymond), Carmen Rémillard (Lionel-predeceased) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Serge and Jeanne.
Gisèle made her career in education as a teacher. She taught in most French schools in North Bay, Corbeil as well as the occasional one room school around Verner; primarily teaching the intermediate age groups, but also special education classes.
Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd on Sunday November 10th, 2024 from 11am until time of service at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Bay Humane Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
Shank, Gisèle (nee Robert)- Le 2 novembre 2024, à l’âge de 85 ans, est décédée Mme Gisèle Shank, épouse de feu Pierre Shank. Elle laisse dans le deuil, ses enfants Danielle (Fern), Yves, Roch (Karen) et Gérard Charrette, ses petits-enfants; Pascal Shank-Roy et Keith Charrette, ses sœurs Huguette Desgroseiller (Raymond) et Carmen Rémillard (Lionel-prédécédé), plusieurs neveux et nièces ainsi que ses parents ( Serge et Jeanne -prédécédé ) et de nombreux amis.
Gisèle a fait carrière dans l’éducation en tant qu’enseignante. Elle a enseigné principalement aux groupes d’age intermédiaires mais aussi à des classes d’éducation specialisée.
La famille recevra parent et amis, à l’Établissement funéraire Hillside le dimanche,10 novembre de 11h00 à 13h00. Le service funéraire suivra à 13h00.
En lieu de fleur, des dons à la société humaine de North Bay sera grandement apprécié par la famille.
