BURR, W. Jack–
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jack Burr, on November 10th, 2024, at the age of 73. Jack was a bachelor, but he leaves behind many cousins, friends, and acquaintances who will miss his quirky sense of humour and seemingly endless knowledge on a myriad of interesting topics and points of discussion. He was a person you could have fun conversations filled with laughter while learning some amazing new facts. He had only recently reconnected with his close friend Rita and would speak fondly of their long-distance relationship interspersed with outings for dinners. It was a joy to hear his happiness in his voice.
Jack retired from Canada Post in Niagara on the Lake, where he was known to hand out treats to all the 4-legged customers that accompanied their humans at the Post office counter. His love of dogs was a big part of his life, and he had the joy of caring for a few, Bertha, Herman, Lyla May and of course all the wonderful dogs along his extensive walks of the neighbourhood. He was a serious music aficionado and helped nurtured this passion in a number of his cousins. Jack was a life-long New York Yankees fan, and his infectious enthusiasm made you want to root them on, even if they weren’t your team. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rest in Peace, Jack.
Family and friends are invited to the committal of Jack’s on Wednesday November 20th, at 11am, at Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Humane Society. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com
