Beloved wife of Peter Collee for 57 years. Loving mother of Cindy (David) Farrington and Jason (Sarah) Collee. Caring grandmother of Sara Farrington, Claire, Carolyn, Cathleen, and Christina Collee. Dear sister of Georgia (Jim) Porkalab, Deborah (Mike) Nixon, and Jack (Shelley) Murray. Sister in-law of Rose Ellen Murray. Shirley will be missed by Peter’s siblings Lorraine (the late Clarence) Wilcox, Jim (Rita) Collee, Leroy (Kathleen) Collee, Paul (Mary Jane) Collee, Ron (Nova) Collee, and Sharon (the late Arthur) Landry. Shirley was a member of St. Joseph’s Church CWL and worked at Laura Secord at the Niagara Square where many would remember her as the “Ice Cream Lady”. In her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored. Shirley enjoyed her daily morning walks with her best friend and sister in-law Mary Jane where they made several friends along their walks. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Peter, and Paul & Mary on their many trips abroad. Shirley loved to spend time in her garden watching the many birds that visited. She loved to dance and would often jump up and dance when a good song came on. Shirley was a devoted fan of Abba, disco, and the Walton’s television series. She was most proud of her daughter Cindy, son Jason and her granddaughters. The family would like to sincerely thank the Nurses, Doctors and staff in the ER and Surgical Ward at the Greater Niagara General Hospital for their compassionate care they showed Shirley.
