RACEY, Lyle Amos
(18 December, 1936 – 1 October, 2023)
A Life Spent in the Fast Lane
On October 1, 2023, we bid farewell to Lyle Racey, who had a lifelong love affair with cars, perhaps spending a bit too generously on his automotive passions. A former racing enthusiast, he burned rubber in his younger days, leaving a trail of memories on the track. Lyle was a part of the Niagara Falls Citizen’s Juvenile “A” O.B.A. Champions, where his role as a pitcher held great significance. This accomplishment was a source of pride for Lyle, reflecting his commitment and passion for the game. Lyle was the youngest son of Edwin and Hilda (nee Hilker). Survived by his son Tim (Janet) and step-children, Lora (Philippe) and Robert (Lucy). Lyle leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lyle was predeceased by his first wife Patricia Pineo and his second wife Shirley Wright, daughter Shirley Louise, step-daughter Beth, and four brothers, Jack, Kenneth, Warren “Bud”, and Robert. Lyle’s journey continues in the great beyond, where he now finds solace in their company. May the roads ahead be as thrilling as the ones he once raced and may his legacy of love and adventure live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to Morse & Son Funeral, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls on Saturday October 7, 2023 from 1 pm to 2 pm. A funeral service to celebrate Lyle’s life will follow at 2 pm. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to Hospice Niagara.
