TODD, Janis Freda- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janis Todd on October 1, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Byng Todd (1991). Mother to Lori (Rich) Gibson, Chris (France) Todd and the late Allan Todd (2023). Devoted life partner to Brian Steele and stepmom to Carrie (Reggie) Lacroix and Ashley (Adam) Steele-Durk. Loving grandma to Katie, Jade, Ryan, Madison and Colby; Owen, Devan, Ava, and Emitt. Sister to Joanne (Norm) Ruttan. Predeceased by her parents Fred (1988) and Jean (2005) Tufts, and brothers Frank (2003), and Jim (2008).
Janis had a rewarding career as a Registered Nurse, working in homes for the aged in the Niagara Region for over 30 years. She was a happy and active retiree for two decades. Janis led a full life and enjoyed many activities, such as her weekly visits to the casino and playing cards with her gal pals on Thursdays. One of her favourite places to be was at home on the lake with Brian. She will be greatly and sadly missed by the many people whose lives she touched.
Janis is resting at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls where her family will receive friends on Friday, October 4th from 5-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Holy Trinity Church, 7820 Portage Road, Niagara Falls on Saturday, October 5th at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Dunnville General Hospital or to your local Foodbank.
