MAZZEI, Francesco ‘Frank’ – Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Eventide Residence, on Saturday August 31, 2024, at the age of 90. Beloved husband of 69 years to Giuditta ‘Judy’ (nee Paonessa). Cherished father of Lydia (Joe) Picca, the late Antoinetta Thorne ( October 30 2016) and twin infant sons (August 26 1967). Devoted Papa of Christina (Patrick Larochelle) St. Angelo, Steven (Kristen) St. Angelo, Jennifer (Paul) Langlois, Mitchell (Carolyn) Tychynski, Lindsay (Jason) Waters, Petronilla (Steven) Harman, Vito Picca and Joseph (Carlie) Picca. Loving great-grandfather of Dylan and Alysha McLaughlin, Juliana and Jacob St. Angelo, Mariah, Alexandria and Emma Tychynski, Rory and Maisy Waters, Julianna Chambers, Maia and Connor Harman, Liliana and Lewis Picca. Great-great grandfather of Octavia and Ophelia McLaughlin. Predeceased by his parents Eugenio and Antonietta (nee Soda) Mazzei, parent-in-law Luigi and Letizia (nee Marini) Paonessa and sister Rose (Vince) Romeo. Frank had a long and successful career working for the City of Niagara Falls from 1952 until his retirement in 1992. Together with his wife, he also operated Judy’s Variety. Family was everything to him, he was a devoted husband and a wonderful father and grandfather. He was an amazing cook, loved his garden especially his fig and fruit trees. Frank was a patient and generous person and could always be counted on to be there to lend a helping hand. Friends are invited to join the family at Patterson Funeral Home, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Wednesday September 4, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday September 5, 2024 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of The Scapular Church, Niagara Falls. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
