MARTIN, Eda Norma (nee Pietrobon), 1935 – 2024 – Passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Friday March 15, 2024 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Leo Martin (2021). Beloved mother of Deborah (Slavko) Zelic and Sandra Martin (Blue). Loving Nona of Joseph Zelic (Brianna Gava) and Jacqueline Zelic. Loving sister-in-law to Gloria Pietrobon, Lena Martin and aunt to many treasured nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Anastasia (nee Crosato) and Roberto Pietrobon, brother Bruno Pietrobon and in-laws Lena (Achille) Paolin, Aldo (Flo) Martin, Gino (Anita) Martin, Dino Martin and Eddie Martin. Eda was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario and was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church. Together with her husband Leo was an owner of Martin’s Woodworking and Deb-San Homes. At the age of 50, she received her Real Estate License and sold real estate for many years. This was a perfect job for Eda as she was a very social and people-oriented person and her passion was to help others. She embodied the golden rule, always believing it is better to give than to receive. She was a woman defined by her unshakeable faith, intelligence, and non-judgmental nature, delighting in the sharing of the ‘Fruits of the Spirit’ with family and friends. Her wish was for them to experience a life enriched with these ‘free gifts’ from Christ: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. The Scripture reading Philippians 4:13, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’ helped her find strength in times of need. Family was priority in Eda’s life. She cherished the many family gatherings and spending quality time with her grandchildren. Dinner and dancing at the Glenview Social Club and the Croatian Club were great highlights for Eda. We were so blessed to have Eda as a mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Your smile, positive outlook and goodness will never be forgotten. Love you to the moon and back, forever and a day. Friends are invited to join the family at PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Friday March 22, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 23, 2024 at 10:30 am at St. Patrick’s Church, with the Rite of Committal to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
