Narciso (Ciso) Bellio, 96, Died on November 15th, 2023 in the Glebe, Ottawa Ontario.
Ciso is survived by his children Elio (Monika) in Roncade, Italy and James (Akiko) in Ottawa and by grandchildren Andrea & Michela and Masayuki & Yukina, and his sister Lilla in Torino. Lovingly remembered by his brother’s children Giancarlo and sons Pabolo & Giancarlo and Iliana and children Leonardo & Lorena (Gustavo) in Buenos Aires, and niece Mara and daughter Elena in Torino, and dear family Carmela, Gloria, Annamaria, Nadia, Donnatella, Fabiola, and Elisa in Veneto; and by dearly loved friends Treasure, Frank, Ron & Steve, Jimmye & Tommy, Jim & Tom and so many other friends. He was preceded in death by his best friend, spouse and soulmate of 70 years, Gino Spironello.
Ciso was a poor boy who made good. He left Italy after WWII for Argentina with tireless energy and a commercial drive to be successful. He returned to Italy to immigrate to Niagara Falls and stayed with friend, Gino Spironello’s family prior to Gino arriving back in Canada creating a lifelong connection to the Spironellos. Inseparable, Gino & Ciso established Gino’s Beauty salon, then Haute Coiffure, both on Victoria Ave, Niagara Falls in 1954 and never looked back operating other beauty salons and other businesses in Niagara in the following years. They were a force of productivity and fun. Retiring early in their lives, they travelled extensively, amassing amazing collections of Chinese and European art, and spent winters in Acapulco with the rich and famous and wonderful expat friends there. Ciso was an amazing cook of northern Italian fare, gnocchi, apple pie and pizza (oh his pizza!) and hosted many grand parties everywhere he went. He would often comment that he had a wonderful life and that he was the luckiest guy in the world.
Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will be held at PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls in April 2024.
