BUTERA, Aldo Antonio – Passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Monday March 18, 2024 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of the late Rosa (nee Maiolo, 1995). Cherished father of Sofia (Sam Barberio) Butera, Caterina (Abd Ghalayini) Butera and loving nonno of Matteo Scozzafava, Jad Ghalayini, Yasmine Ghalayini. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings Vince (Edita) Butera, Angelo (Lori) Butera, Caterina (the late Carlo) Raso, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Raffaela (nee Stranges) Butera, brothers Raffaele (Rosa) Butera, Vittorio (Julia) Butera. Aldo immigrated to Canada from Catanzaro, Italy in 1967. He was a kind, gentle, hard worker, who will be remembered by many as the owner of Lamazia Garden Restaurant. He dedicated himself to his family and gardening was his passion. The family wishes to thank the staff, nurses and Doctors at the Greater Niagara General Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Wednesday March 20, 2024 from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service in celebration of his life will be held Thursday at 10 am at the funeral home, with the Rite of Committal to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
