Richard passed away at age 65 with family by his side at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital in Ottawa on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
Beloved son of the late Omer and Noella (nee Belisle) Chartrand. Dear brother of Yvon, Roger (Denis) and the late Robert. Richard was a special uncle to Lindsey and great-uncle to Lexus and Leah.
Richard lived for the last 17 years, with a family home which opened their home and hearts, with open arms. The Lariviere family, Pauline and Joel (nurturing and supporting parent figures) and their 2 children, Mark and Sophie (supporting sibling figures) provided Richard with the utmost care and love, anyone could have wished for.
Richard will be lovingly remembered, by his good friend Shawn and by many staff members from his previous placement, with OCAPDD. Richard loved to watch hockey on TV, as well as attending some, listening to country music, going shopping with Joel, helping Pauline garbage duty and spending time with his brother Yvon and both families. Friends will remember him for his kindness, being a great chatterbox, outings with both families.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd, Nepean, ON (at Bayshore Drive) on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 1 p.m. followed by a reception.
