Peter Henry Thielman Jr., born March 8, 1952, passed away peacefully at LACGH in the early hours of October 4, 2024, surrounded by family. His unwavering love and dedication to his family was evident in every aspect of his life. Beloved husband to Carol Thielman nee Snider for 52 years, Peter was a devoted father to his sons Derek (Karina), Ryan (Kyra), and Devon (Amanda). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Scarlett and Aria Thielman, who were the light of his life. Peter will be fondly remembered by his In-laws Jerry Snider (Donna), Bob Snider (Martha), Tim Snider (Kelly), Darrell Dalton (Richard), and Darlene Kennelly (Gerald). His nieces Alison Thielman (Jarrod), Angela Menard (Bill), Bridgette Brown (Tim), Kristy Sands (Jason), and nephews Justin Thielman (Steve), Darren Thielman, and Daniel Loney (Tracy), Paul Snider, Sean Snider (Morgan), Matthew Kennelly (Jen), Kyle Snider (Sara), Cory Snider (Bobbi), Jeremiah Kennelly (Kurra), Luke Kennelly (Michelle). He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Cozette Thielman, Sisters Toni Thielman and Nikki Loney, his brother-in-law Gerry Loney and nephew, Jason Loney. Many great nieces and nephews will fondly remember him.
Peter served as a volunteer firefighter in Napanee for 35 years before retiring in 2008. A dedicated businessman, he owned and operated H&R Block in Napanee for 47 years, retiring in 2020. He also owned H&R Block in Picton for a few years. He was employed by Investors Group and Money Concepts and owned Canada Cash and Napanee Business Services. He was a leader of the Boys Brigade Scouting Moment for many years and a proud sponsor of the H&R Block Softball Team, who won many championships. Known for his love of classic cars, Peter was a familiar face at car shows and cherished his time with fellow enthusiasts.
His life was enriched by the stories he shared, accompanied by his unforgettable belly laugh. Wherever Peter went, he seemed to know someone; he was not just a part of the community but a pillar of it, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
His family extends their deepest gratitude to the emergency and acute care staff at LACGH and the teams at KHSC Emergency Department, Kidd 9 Medicine, and Connell 9 Medicine for their compassionate care.
Peter’s legacy is one of kindness, laughter, and love for his family and community. He will be greatly missed.
Family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home, Napanee, on Friday, October 25th, 2024 from 6-8 p.m.. A service to be held in the chapel at Wartman Funeral Home, Napanee, on Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at 11a.m. followed by a reception. For those who are unable to join us in person for the service you are welcome to watch it live via Zoom.
