Julie Marie Hough passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Born April 26, 1977 in Barrie, Ontario, Julie is survived by her parents John and Alida Eisses, parents-in- law Duncan and Ruth, her husband Andrew, daughter Jean and sons Matthew, Jonathan and Daniel.
She is missed by her brothers Kevin Eisses (Amber), Doug Eisses (Sylvia) and Gord Eisses (Tammy), sister-in-law Wilfreda Eisses, brother-in-law David (Lisa) and Sister-in-law Karen Stauffer (Ben). She is lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family dairy farm was a special place where Julie grew up and enjoyed bunnies, sweet corn, calves and farm dogs. As a teenager, she would come to the barn after school to help her Dad do chores. Julie was never afraid to get dirty; a trait she passed onto her kids.
Julie’s enjoyment of the farm took her to the University of Guelph where she studied Agricultural Business, played intramural sports, two stepped at Aggie Pubs and met her husband Andrew.
After graduation, Julie worked for Farm Credit Corporation in Walkerton, Owen Sound and Barrie providing loans to farmers, then the Dairy Farmers of Ontario as their classroom educator before being the most amazing Mom to Jean, Matt, Jon and Dan. Julie was always a strong partner to Andrew in running their custom woodworking business and eventually the family grain farm.
Julie will be remembered as a 4-H leader, a Church Youth group leader, a volunteer at the Mess and a super fan to all her kids sporting events. She was an incredible cook who made her meals with love and gave time to her family and guests around the kitchen table. She taught us how to be thankful. Julie loved the outdoors and adventuring with her family.
Her courageous journey with cancer spanned 12 years. We are amazed at the perseverance she displayed and how she kept a smile on her face.
Julie’s faith in her Heavenly Father was woven through her daily life. We are thankful for the kindness she gave to us.
Julie and her family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who provided her care in Barrie, Napanee and Kingston. You gave us time, and we are grateful.
