Obituary of Richard C. Taylor
We are heartbroken to announce that Richard C. Taylor passed away on April 10, 2024. He was surrounded by family and loved ones. He passed away peacefully and went to join his parents and his loving walking companion Ares.
Born on October 26th, 1959 in Windsor, Ontario, Richard was the youngest child of Clarke and Kay Taylor. Beloved husband of Donna Andronik. Loving brother of Allen (Mavis Tidd), Arthur (Ann Roy), Kathy (Jim Thorsley), Peter, Barry (Pat Mazier). Brother-in-law to Stan (Heather) Andronik and Ted (Kathy Clark) Andronik, nieces and nephews Jennifer, Jason, Lisa, Gord, Carly and Dakota, great niece, Eva, and great nephew Niklas.
He graduated from The University of Western Ontario and went on to develop a passion for telecommunications and standards. He spent 40 years working in the telecommunications industry and was respected for his expertise, hard work and dedication.
Richard had a unique sense of humour. He adored cats and had a passion for tractors, antique telephones, WW2 airplanes, photography and woodworking. He enjoyed designing and building beautiful, practical things. Richard and Donna treated their property in Manotick as a blank canvas and out of that, built a beautiful arboretum together. Richard had a personal connection with nature, particularly the flora and fauna that resided in their backyard paradise. He was known for his kind heart, thoughtfulness and his willingness to help others. He was known around the neighbourhood for helping neighbours in time of emergencies, fun Halloween decorations and delivery of Christmas treats by tractor on Christmas Eve.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday May 9th at 1221 Beaverwood Road, Manotick from 2pm to 4pm, and a second Celebration of Life on Saturday May 11th at Elliott-Madill Funeral Homes, Mount Brydges, Ontario from 2pm to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Nature Conservancy of Canada, United Way, or Cancer Society. Richard will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
