Terry Patricia Offen passed into God’s hands quietly and peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on June 21, 2024. She was lucid, thankful and loving to the serene end. The heavens have a most worthy angel to help watch over us all.
A happy Pollyanna baby girl was born to George and Noreen Huntley on March 17, 1952. She grew up strong and vibrantly alive despite her many health conditions. Terry and Doug would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on June 28, 2024. Jim and Jean Allard introduced Terry and Doug we side since he proposed on June 6, 1974, officially for 50 years and three weeks. They were always happiest together and loneliest when apart. Terry was Doug’s whole life for 50 years. A lot of fond memories are lost with her passing. Being in love and having wonderful children and grandchildren were Terry’s proudest moments. Many family events were shared, and all the love that flowed generously between family members was cherished by Terry. Meeting new friends and exciting experiences brought joy to our hearts. We will miss her love, support, hugs, and that special feeling Terry gave everyone, the feeling that you are the person she has been waiting to see and she was thrilled to be seeing you. Her unconditional love was felt by so many. Terry hugged with her whole being. You were fully embraced. Even her hearing aids let you know it was her hugging you, she always said with a chuckle when they squealed during a hug “Now you know it’s me” and gave you a big smile even though the squealing caused her pain; she left you feeling good.
Medical professionals were a large part of Terry’s life and she had some truly great doctors including Dr. B.W. Merrick, Dr. Chrysdale, Dr. Wade, Dr. Johnson, Dr. Price-Jones, Dr. Murdoch, Dr. Scanlon, Dr. Kang, Dr. MacFayden, Dr. Dobrin and Dr. Fortin. Her nurses over the years took such great care of Terry, especially Melissa, who went above and beyond right up to the end, Krista, Jenifer, Robyn, Josh, Michelle, and Carli. We couldn’t have managed without the support from her PSWs from Care Partners and Creative Care especially Penny, Trudy, Kristen, Suzanne, Crystal, Kirsten, and others over the years. We cannot thank all of you enough for your care for Terry. Her care team was exceptional and dedicated to helping Terry as best they could.
Terry wanted a celebration of life in a couple of months in the new house in Port McNicoll. Email theportoffens@gmail.com for the details.
