In Celebration of
Sotirios “Sam” Panagakos
March 9, 1928 –
May 14, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sotirios “Sam” Panagakos who passed away peacefully, with his children by his side, on May 14, 2024.
Sam was a man we all remembered for his beautiful smile, and a heart as big as his smile. Sam immigrated to Canada from Anogia, Greece where he met and married his predeceased and beloved wife Eleni, of 64 years of marriage. Sam will be deeply missed by his children John and Perry (Annemarie) and loving Pappou to Olivia, Samantha, Jacob, Elainna and Christian. Survived by his brother Peter (Leta).
With the kindest and most generous soul, his memory will live on forever in our hearts.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 16 from 10:00am – 11:00am at the Greek Orthodox Church of Prophet Elias (1785 Matheson Boulevard, Mississauga), followed by the funeral service at the same location. Interment will follow at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery (737 Dundas Street East) with lunch to follow: Astoria Restaurant (1970 Dundas Street East)
