Lawrie Ellen Landre, 74, passed away on November 10, 2024, with her family by her side.
Lawrie was born on August 18, 1950 to Leone and Ross Watson, and grew up in Lorne Park, Mississauga. Lawrie spent her summers with her siblings at a family cottage in Muskoka, which became her favourite place. After high school, Lawrie had many adventures working at CP hotels across Canada and travelling abroad. Lawrie met her husband Thomas Landre through mutual friends and they married in 1976, sharing nearly 50 years of marriage together. Lawrie was a loving mother to Amanda and Alyson and grandmother to Ryan, Hayden, Aaron and Sydney.
Lawrie attended Teacher’s College at the University of Toronto and was a dedicated elementary school teacher in Peel for over 30 years, teaching Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 3, and English as a Second Language. Lawrie had a playful sense of humour and was a great storyteller. She had many talents, including gardening and baking. Lawrie loved spending time at the cottage and spoiling her grandchildren.
