James (Jim) Lackner
April 2, 1944 – December 9, 2024
James Richard Lackner (Jim), unexpectedly and peacefully passed away after a short illness. He leaves behind his wife, Carolyn Lackner, who he adored, his stepdaughter Jenny Valley and her husband Brandon, and many family & friends.
Jim is predeceased by his sister Elaine Kirkwood (Jim) and brother Bill Lackner, and his favourite cat Snowflake. He will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law and longest friend Diane Lackner, his sisters Ginny Ashton and Jane Sherriff (Lindsey), many nieces and nephews, his best friend Andy Mayer, his honorary family Serena and Ron Kelly and his honorary nephew Colton Kelly.
Jim was a public school teacher and a Special Education teacher in Simcoe County for many years and along with that he was a foster parent and mentor. He married Carolyn in 1992 and with that became the best stepfather ever to Jenny. He was active in the church, loved their many pets, and lived a content and happy life with Carolyn. He will be deeply missed.
