John Allan McDonald of Vernon, Ontario, passed away peacefully at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on August 1, 2024 in his 80th year.
Survived by his wife of 53 years Helen (née Stoodley). Loving father to Adam (Jennifer Danby) and Darren (Julie). Fond Grandpa to Kristian, Avery, Mikayla, Ryan, and Justin. Brother to Carole (Freeman Acres), Glenn (Brenda), and Larry (Nancy). Predeceased by brother Kenneth and sister Debbie Stoodley. Brother-in-law to Lois (late Dale Presley), Doris (Garry Baker), John Stoodley, and Darlene (Jeff Broad).
John will be remembered for his love of farming, his devotion to his family, and his quiet and generous demeanour.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Daley Family Funeral Home, 6791 Bank Street, Metcalfe on Thursday, Aug 8th from 9:30am up until the time of the Memorial Service at 11am, followed by a reception. Inurment to follow at the Springhill Cemetery.
In remembrance of John’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre or Winchester District Memorial Hospital.
