In loving memory of our mother and true friend, Charlotte Ruth Fleming, who passed away on
May 29, 2024, peacefully in her sleep, with granddaughter Julianne at her side. Ruth was the
only daughter of Mae Rose and Delbert Fleming, both of Marmora Ontario and was born to them
on July 8, 1939. She was the last member of her immediate family line – those being Ralph,
Ross, Ivan and Nellie Fleming as well as Eleanor (Leonard – Taylor). Loving mother of Jeffrey
Thomas Brooks, Tony Dean Brooks and Jason Brooks. Ruth, as she preferred to be known as,
will be deeply missed by all who knew her and deeply missed by her family. She is survived by
her above children in conjunction with their spouses, multiple grandchildren and multiple great
grandchildren.
Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before
her own. Ruth was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage,
determination, dignity and independence. Growing up, Ruth was always there for us, we never
went hungry, were never under clothed or dirty and she instilled in us the importance of family,
hard work, doing what is right and encouraged us to be responsible and independent in our own
right. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to. She never took
handouts, did not tolerate fools gladly and taught us to work, look after ourselves and our
families and to be good, upstanding citizens.
She was also a lover of animals in general, horses and German Sheppard dogs especially. She
also had a refined taste for handcrafted art, antiques furnishings and immensely enjoyed
gardening. If you were a friend of hers or a family member there is not much she would not do
for you if she could.
The funeral service (crematory) will be held graveside at Mount Nebo Cemetery in Springbrook,
Ontario, at the Fleming family plot on June 6, 2024 at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may
be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Mother, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. You succeeded in
motherhood more than you will ever know. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
