It is with love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Margaret on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
Beloved wife to William for over 73 years, cherished mother of Doug (Luc), David (Donaleisa), Don (Susan), and Scott (Lisa). Devoted “Nannie” to her 8 grandchildren, Daniel, Justine, Kristen (Dan), Kyle, Samantha, Jamieson, Charlie, and Gracie; and to her 4 great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by her brother, Gordon. Predeceased by her parents, Douglas and Violet Cave; and her sister, Carol.
Magaret was born and raised in Islington (Toronto), attended Swansea Public School and Runnymede Collegiate, and married Bill from Port Credit (Mississauga) in 1951. Together their journey included time lived in Port Credit, Fort Erie, St. Catherines, Mississauga, and Burlington while they raised their family, and Bobcaygeon, Vineland, and Stoney Creek in their retirement years.
Some of Marg’s favourite things were family trips to Myrtle Beach, get-togethers with the “Woodeden Wanderers”, cottage life and retirement activities with friends at Port 32, and annual visits to B.C.
But more than anything, she adored her husband and the life they created together, and her four boys and their families. Marg was always the loving point person for all family gatherings. She was brave as she faced life’s challenges, and she overcame much in her 92 years.
Special thanks to the staff who cared for her so well at AgeCare Brant in Burlington and Seasons Retirement Community in Stoney Creek over the past five years.
In keeping with Marg’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family gathering will be held. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
