Joan went to meet her heavenly Father on Sunday morning November 19, 2023, in her 85th year. She will be missed by her daughters: Lynda Blanchard of Brockville, Marion Dixon (Thomas) of Cardinal, June Ferguson (Tom) of Maitland, 4 granddaughters: Holly Barr (Cody), Patricia Dixon, Lyndsay and Chelsea Ferguson. Mom is also survived by 2 Great Grandchildren: Alexis Dixon-Perrin and Cohen Perrin.
She is survived by a brother David (Helen), sisters-in-law Helen Hogg (Garnet deceased), and Charlotte Blanchard (Ron, deceased). Joan is survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Mom is predeceased by her son Arthur Blanchard, her sister Norma DeGuire (Paul, deceased), sister-in-law Shirley Blanchard, nephew Stephen Blanchard, and the father of her children Ken Blanchard.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov 23rd, 6 – 8 PM, at Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James Street East, Brockville. Service at the funeral home on Friday, Nov 24th at 11:00 AM, officiated by Major Gerald Cory (retired) of the Salvation Army. The service will be livestreamed Friday morning at 11 am EST and the link will be available in the service details below.
