Peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Monday, November 11, 2024 in her 89th year. Predeceased by her husband of 54 years Norman Potter. Loving mother of Wendy Strong (Mike), Dan Potter (Christine) and Randy Potter (Shirley). Grandmother of Nicki MacMillan, Brad Potter Brad Potter (Natasha), Hannah Smith, Jennifer Strong, James Strong (Daniela), Alec Strong (Vera), Carly Johnson (Matthew) and Ryan Potter (Shayna). Great grandmother of Danica and Darrah Samson, Blake MacMillan, Iris Smith, Conley and Adalynn Johnson, Rowan and Iris Potter, and Nina Strong. Also survived by her sister and best friend Judith Anne Woodcock. Predeceased by her parents the late Elmer and the late Mary Woodcock.
Carol graduated in 1955 from Brockville Psychiatric School of Nursing. After a number of years working, she retired in 1978. After retirement the cottage on Donaldson Bay was bought in 1979 where she loved being around the water, the outdoors and nature. She enjoyed gardening where she spent many hours working in her many flower beds. She also enjoyed snowmobiling. She had a strong faith and dedicated a lot of time to the church. She loved music of all kinds. Her artistic side took her to teach toll painting lessons on the house on Blue Church Road where she also owned a craft store for many years.
Carol loved her family. She and Norm took many trips to babysit her grandchildren in Thunder Bay and London, as well as days spent at the cottage with them.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Thursday, November 14th from 6pm – 8pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Saint Lawrence Anglican Church on Friday, November 15th, 2024 at 2pm. Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Maitland.
