Obituary of Patricia Anne King
King, Patricia Anne – Surrounded by the love of her family in her final days, Patricia Anne King (née Fisher) passed away into the arms of her Lord and Saviour on June 8th, 2024, at her home at The Jacob Senior Living in Beamsville, Ontario. She was 82. Patricia and her late husband Dr. Michael King, shared 55 loving years of marriage before his passing on 1 April, Easter Sunday, 2018.
Patricia was born on April 25th, 1942 in London, Ontario to the late Kenneth and Celia Fisher. She was predeceased by her three older siblings: Margaret Coughtrey (William, deceased), Marilyn Wilson, and George Fisher (Dorothy). Patricia will also be fondly remembered by Peter (Terri) King, David King (deceased), Raina King, and Patricia King (George).
Patricia was a loving and devoted mother to Scott (Kathy) King of Parksville, BC and Jennifer (Darren) Horton of Vineland, Ontario. Patricia was a treasured grandmother to Sarah (Travis) Braun, Michael Horton, Jessica Horton, and Isabella King. Patricia was beloved by a large extended family as well.
Patricia entered nursing training at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London at the age of 17, where she soon met the love of her life, Michael. They married in 1962 and went on to lead a family medical practice together, providing compassionate care to many families. Patricia and Michael shared many wonderful times together in Barbados, Michael’s homeland. Wintering in Barbados in their retirement years, they enjoyed time together with Scott and his family and their many friends.
Patricia’s family would like to thank life-long friend Gail Pallett (deceased), as well as Jacqueline Miller for their friendship and support to Patricia over many years. Patricia’s family would like to thank the following for the compassionate care they provided over the last two years: the entire PSW, nursing and support staff at The Jacob, nurses Tracy and Paul from St. Elizabeth Health Care, physicians Dr. David Habing, Dr. Aidan Jeffery, and Dr. Daniel Kreuzer for his care while Patricia resided in London.
A visitation will take place at Tallman Funeral Home, 3277 King St., Vineland, Ontario, on Thursday, June 13th, from 6-8 pm. A celebration of Patricia’s life will take place on June 22nd, 2024 at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo St., London. Visitation at 10:00 am, funeral at 11:00 am, followed by a reception. Private interment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 806 Victoria St, London.
If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation of London to be used for palliative care and chronic patients would be appreciated by Patricia’s family.
