It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of a tremendous man. A caring man. A loving husband, son, father, poppa, and the best friend that anyone could ever imagine. Steven James Hayford left us June 6, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve was brave and strong right to the end. He passed with his loving family at his side. Steve will truly be missed by the love of his life Kim (Smith), his daughters Amanda (Jeff), Amy (Abdullah), Laura (John), his sisters Debbie (Bud), Donna (Dave), his brothers David (predeceased), Bob (Tammy) and his sister in law Louise and his sister in law Denyse (Ron). He was adored by his grandchildren Jackson and Maddison, Aydin, Zeynep, Rosalee, Nora. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, Phil, Ryan, Little Budd, Christina, Bobby, Tanya, Sarah, David, Christoper. Forever remembered by longtime family friends Dave and Donna, Chris and Sara. Uncle Red to Danielle (Christopher) and Jeff (Ashley), and many more. Predeceased by his parents and his inlaws. He will always be fondly remembered by Big Bob Lake Family and his Jughead Baseball Family. Steve was liked by everyone he met. He started working at Fleetwood Canada as a summer job and stayed 27 years. When the factory closed he then worked for 17 years at Race Toyota as a loyal, hardworking employee. Steve’s happy place was “the cottage“ with his family. “Red” loved having children around and enjoyed having weekend parties and entertaining by the fire. He enjoyed fishing, boating and teaching generations to aggressively tube and waterski behind the boat. Steve had many interests including fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, Nascar, skiing, baseball, ice fishing, and watching hockey and football. He enjoyed cheering against the Leafs. He was the kind of person that comes along once in a lifetime and impacts everyone he meets.
A time to celebrate Steve’s life will take place at the late on July 6, from 11:00 am till 3:00 pm
