Obituary of Alan Whalen
December 10, 1952 – December 2, 202
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Alan Whalen. Alan passed peacefully on December 2, 2024, just days shy of his 72nd birthday.
Alan was the father to three children, Sean, Tim and Meaghan. He was the Grandfather to three wonderful Grandchildren, Travis, Austin and Aidan.
Alan is also survived by three siblings, Phyllis, Richard and Yvonne.
Though Alan faced many hardships through life he had a depth to him that could catch you by surprise. He had a sharp sense of humour and an appreciation for life’s quieter moments.
Alan’s story is a reminder that everyone carriers their own burdens and his journey leaves behind valuable lessons about the importance of compassion and understanding.
Alan always found peace along the St. Lawrence. That is where he will be laid to rest. A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to organizations which support mental health and addiction recovery in Alan’s memory.
Rest in peace, Alan. May you find the serenity you sought.
