Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Hospice Wellington on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at the age of 82.
Beloved wife of Edward Smydo for over 63 years. Loving mother of Wayne and Stephanie Smydo, Trish and Greg Harrison, Kelli and Ben Baumber, and Trevor (deceased) and Ang Smydo. Proud Nana of Lindsay (Mark), Steven, Kerriann (Patrick), Scott (Rebecca), Stacey, Sonja (Jon), Mark (Courtney), Brianna (Spencer), Allison (Lucas), Cassandra (Jake), Mackenzie (Rebecca), Tiffany (Chris), Natasha and Lucas. Great-grandmother of Gabriella, Declan, Paisley, Avery, Milo, Noah, Lincoln and Thea. Dear sister of Carol (late John) Rogler, Betty (Don) Giles, Sharon (Gerald) Monahan, Roger (late Robert Genier) Dowdall, Shawnna (Rick) Williams and the late Marie (Frank) Quinn, Joan (Larry) MacDonald, Leo (Elaine) Dowdall, Jim (Linda) Dowdall and John Dowdall. Dear sister-in-law of Joanne Dowdall, Helen Mooney (late Gord) and the late Stan (Sheila) Smydo and Mary Matusinec (Stan).
Terry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved to travel, dance and spend time with her family. She was highly respected as the Supervisor of Payroll for Wellington Catholic District School Board.
Terry’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener (519) 749-8467. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s RC Church, 760 St. David St. North, Fergus, on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m Reception to follow.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Wellington, the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo-Wellington, or Doctors Without Borders would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
