Karen Lemke (nee Kelly):
Passed away peacefully at Columbia Forest Long Term Care on March 22 at the age
of 81. Beloved wife of late Edwin for 54 years. Loving aunt of Jared (Garett),
Matthew (Sherree), Nicholas, Jesse (Tanya), Kelly, Robert, Colleen (Kerry), Darrin (Melody), Leah (Brendan), Dwayne, Edith and Imtraudt. Sister and sister-in-law of
late Connie (late John), late Shannon (Bev), late Tommy (Judy), late Paul, James,
Mary (Tim), late Terry (Larry), and late Ewald (Lena). Special friends to the Neuhof and Kappeler families
Karen worked at General Motors in Windsor before moving to Kitchener and
working at Eatons. Karen was also a beloved yoga instructor, leading restorative
yoga classes at the Mill Courtland Community Centre. Karen was well known to her
neighbours and friends in Stanley Park and loved stopping for chats while walking
her dog.
The family would like to extend thanks to Community Support Connections and
the volunteer drivers who helped Karen visit with her family and friends. Very
special thanks to the staff, nurses, and personal support workers at Columbia
Forest for your years of compassionate care and special attention paid to Karen.
Special thanks to Amanda Jantzi for being a very special friend to Karen, and to the
team at Warm Embrace, especially Linda for providing special care.
Karen’s family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener (519) 749-8467.
Funeral Mass at St. Anthony Daniel Catholic Church, 29 Midland Drive, on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Williamsburg Cemetery. Reception to follow. Those unable to attend the service, are invited to join via livestream at:
