Reinhart, Bernice;
Bernice Irene Reinhart (nee Hartman) was born April 28th 1923 in Galt Ontario. Bernie, Mom, Grandma, Great Gramma and sister lead a busy, vibrant and healthy life until 3 days shy of her 101st birthday. A devoted wife to Edgar for over 65 years, she and he exemplified for all, the true commitment of love, loyalty and respect for a successful marriage.
As a mother she worked tirelessly as a great cook, forever sewing or knitting; as a committed grandmother, teaching the kids games especially cards. She was a force of determination with over 40 years of sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous, supporting ,mentoring and encouraging sobriety in others. Mom was awarded at a special evening of designation by the Ontario Government for her years of service and volunteerism, specifically for her active membership in the Catholic Women’s league at Blessed Sacrament in Kitchener and as a dedicated working member of the St Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her sister Rose Meyer (nee Hartman) of Kitchener, her children Anne Marie Deslippe of Barrie, Mary Reinhart of Barrie, Therese Collins (nee Reinhart) of Barrie, Peggy Blackburn (nee Reinhart of Wallaceburg, William Reinhart of Barrie, and Jane Reinhart of Kitchener; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 1 great – great grandchild.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Edgar, her daughter Patricia Reinhart, her Granddaughter Laura Collins, and Grandson Paul Szierer; her sister Helen Stumpf, brother Roy Hartman and brother John Hartman.
Bernice’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Henry Walser Funeral Home in Kitchener, ON, 519-749-8467. A Funeral Service will take place in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. Burial at Woodland Cemetery.
