It is with immense sadness that the family of Winston Norton Smith announces his passing on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Beloved husband of 59 years to Nancy and loving father to Todd, Tanya and Tara.
Winston owned and operated Smith’s Cycle for over 35 years. He was proud of this family business that was founded by his father, Norton, and which, at his retirement, he passed to his son, Todd.
Winston was always ready for a new adventure, he welcomed a challenge and sought opportunities to learn something new. He always had a project on the go and his children and grandchildren knew they could count on him to fix anything.
Winston loved the warm weather and he and his wife enjoyed many years together in St. Lucia. He was an avid scuba diver and when he wasn’t in the water he could be found cycling or solving sudoku. Winston was proud of his family and enjoyed gatherings at the lake. He was happy when his grandchildren were challenging him to a game, or he was taking on the role of “Pirate Papa”. He loved his wife’s Sunday dinners and pie irons cooked over the bonfire. He never turned down an offer of ice cream.
Winston will always be admired for his generous spirit, positive attitude and deep faith.
