Svea Jane Murray Obituary
Peacefully on Tuesday, November 2, 2024 at KGH, Svea passed away at the age of 91.
Svea was the loving wife of Bob for 59 years. Their marriage took them to Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Mission Viejo (California), Bath and finally back to Kingston where they happily spent the past few years overlooking their beloved Lake Ontario.
Svea will be forever remembered and loved by her 4 children Bob (Elizabeth), Caralan (Bob), Kim (Brian) and Andrea (Greg). Grandma was proud grandmother to Kevin (Katie), Amanda (David), Andrew, Katie, Jeff, Marty, Ian (Nicole). Lesley-Anne, Laura, Meaghan, Katherine, Annie, Nick and Mary Elizabeth. She was blessed to have 14 beautiful great grandchildren.
Svea had a 60 year career in nursing having graduated from KGH Nursing Program. Her passion was palliative and hospice care. She was also an active member of the Bath Prayer Quilt Ministry, and her prayer quilts were treasured by many for the comfort they brought. What a legacy. Prayer Squares will be available during the visitation and funeral to leave for Svea.
The family would like to thank the Nurses, Palliative teams on Connell 9 at KGH for the wonderful care that she truly deserved. And that’s the long and the short of it!
A Visitation will be held Thursday November 14, 2024 from 6 to 8pm at James Reid Funeral home (1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston). A Memorial Service will be held Friday November 15 at St. John’s Anglican Church (41 Church St, Kingston). Inurnment Escott Cemetery. Donations may be made to UHKF Providence Care Hospital.
