Obituary
Bauer, Roswitha Sonja – Roswitha Bauer passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on Saturday October 28, 2023 after complications from a fall at age 92. She was predeceased by her husband Helmut (June 7, 2016). Born in 1931 in Ebingen, Germany she and Helmut met and were married there and then emigrated to Canada in 1953. She is survived by her children Michael (Daphne), Barbara (Knud) and Oliver (Shirley).
Rose and Helmut loved being outdoors, whether working in their garden or hiking and camping in Provincial parks throughout Ontario. Rose was a lady who could swing an axe. If the weather was too inclement for a walk she loved to go to the woodshed to split wood for her fresh air and exercise. She was a creator and maker of many items. She wove, made clothing, knit sweaters, cardigans, wrist warmers and much else. She also upholstered furniture and enjoyed reading Canadian Literature and playing her piano.
Thanks to the doctors, nurses and PCWs who cared for her at KGH.
There will be a visitation at James Reid Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 10:00 – 10:50 am, a Funeral Service in the Chapel at beginning at 11:00 am followed by a reception in the Reception Centre.
