Richard Smith Obituary
Richard Smith of Verona passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024 at Kingston General Hospital in his 78th year. He was a very much-loved husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He was born in Kingston to Irvine and Janet Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Donna-Marie (nee Lattimore), sons Kevin (Tess), Bradley (Chrissy) and daughter Kathy (Darrell).
Richard was most proud of his seven grandchildren: Brennan (Caroline), Adrian (Jade), Dawson (Anita), Joshua (Katie), David, Megan (Logan) and Kolten. Whenever the opportunity arose, Richard would tell you about their dedicated, hardworking ethic, inherited from their much-loved grandfather.
Richard had a successful construction company in the Verona area for over 30 years. He was well-respected in the community for his hard work and his honesty.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) – NICU would be appreciated by his family.
A Celebration of Richard’s life will take place at a later date.
