Obituary
O. Ann McGill – Our beloved aunt passed away on October 19, 2023, at the age of 88, following a brief respiratory illness. Ann will be dearly missed by her sister Doris Taylor, her niece Charlene Taylor and her nephew by marriage Michael McTaggart. She was predeceased by her brother Don, her nieces Susan Baird and Sandi McTaggart and her great-nephew Kyle McTaggart.
Ann was a warm, very chatty, kind and generous person, with many talents. She had a 25-year career in the Canadian Armed Forces and rose to the rank of Captain. She then worked in the Public Service for more than a decade before retiring. Ann was a life-long learner. She obtained a pilot’s license and studied part-time for many years to achieve a Bachelor’s and then a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Toronto. Ann was an avid reader, world traveler and lover of cats. She was very artistic and became an impressive wood carver in her later years.
Cremation has already taken place. No service will be held as was Ann’s request. The family is grateful for the care provided by Arbor Heights. The staff were kind and supportive to the end. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Ontario SPCA.
