Obituary
Lois Margaret Healy (Baxter)
KGH 1951
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 17, 2023.
Born in Kingston, Ontario on February 10, 1930, to the late George and Daisy Baxter, predeceased by brother Donald.
Lois was the beloved wife for 63 years of the late Malcolm (Mac) Healy (2017). Loving mother to sons Richard (Carol), Toronto, and Thomas (Cathy), Orillia. Cherished grandmother to Alex Healy, Ottawa and Scott Healy, Toronto.
Lois was a lifelong resident of Kingston, attending KCVI and was a graduate of the Kingston General Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1951. While Lois left the profession to raise her family, the profession never left Lois. She was active with her alumni and looked forward to annual gatherings. Most recently Lois resided at the Kingsbridge Retirement Community where she reunited with old friends and formed new important relationships.
Lois inherited her love of painting from her mother and was an original member of the Kingston “Tuesday Painters”. She had a passion for duplicate bridge and was a long-time member of the Crossroads Duplicate Bridge Club.
The family would like to thank Lois’ caregivers at Kingsbridge for their kindness and support during her final weeks.
Lois was in the care of the James Reid Funeral Home. At Lois’ request, a private funeral service was held by the family. Interment at Cataraqui Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Arthritis Society or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated by the family.
