John Gummo Obituary
Gummo; John Ernest – Passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Bayshore Transitional Care Unit in Amherstview on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the age of 92. He was predeceased by his wife in 1984, Marilyn (nee Smith). He is survived by his children Steven Gummo (Carmel) and Karen Gummo, grandchildren Jamie (Scott), Myles (Andrea), and Jillian (Anton) and great-granddaughter Ada. John will be missed by his sister Patricia Gummo and sister-in-law Colleen Morgan. John was also predeceased by his parents Earland and Gertrude Gummo (nee Skea), siblings Keith Gummo (late Marion), Margaret Culpin and long-time companion Alice Weese.
The family would like to thank the staff at Normandy Retirement Living and KGH for their exceptional care of John, and especially Dr. Natalie Kondor for the care and respect she showed John and his family in his final months.
At John’s request, there will a private graveside service where he will be put to rest with his wife Marilyn. Those wishing to make memorial donations, can do so to University Hospitals Kingston Foundation – Cancer Center in his honour.
