JACQUELINE (JACKIE) JOHN
Peacefully, we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, wife, sister, and aunt, Jacqueline (Jackie) John, on September 9, 2024, at the age of 86. Jackie was the cherished wife of 43 years to VI John (Ronnie) and deeply adored by her siblings, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends in Germany, Canada and the US.
Born in Oregon and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Jackie dedicated her career to shaping young minds as a beloved elementary school teacher. In retirement, she generously gave her time, supporting charities and non-profit organizations. Jackie was a loving wife, sister, and aunt who never forgot a birthday, always ensuring a thoughtful card arrived at the door for every occasion.
Together with her husband, VI, Jackie spent countless days traveling the world, enjoying the theatre, and savoring great food. She had a passion for collecting Hummel figurines, Coca-Cola and other Hallmark ornaments, and she especially loved Christmas time. Jackie was also an avid sports fan, watching her Toronto Blue Jays and cheering for her Kentucky Wildcats. Her love for gardening, her delicious southern cooking, and holiday treats will always be fondly remembered. Jackie lived life to the fullest, and her wit, charm, and gift of conversation will remain cherished by all who knew her.
In accordance with Jackie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations to UHKF-Providence Care Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
We will carry your love, laughter, and spirit in our hearts forever, Jackie.
