Grace Margaret Neddow (nee O’Grady)
July 1, 1931 – October 12, 2023
Passed away peacefully at home, as per her wishes, with her husband and dear friend Ella at her side on the 12th of October, 2023
Born in Hagarty Township, Renfrew County, the daughter of the late PJ and Clara O’Grady.
Grace is survived by her husband of 52+ years, Dwight, her daughter Laura Marie (Stephen) Esch and granddaughter, Jessica Marie Esch. Also survived by her sister, Sister Zita O’Grady gsic and brother Jack (Joyce) O’Grady, plus many nieces and nephews.
Grace was predeceased by her brothers Pat (late Sheelagh), Archie (late Florence), Arnold (Helen), Preston (Kathleen), and nieces Joan Verch (Darryl) and Sheelagh O’Grady.
Grace was a laboratory technologist in Pembroke, Montreal, and Kingston. In Kingston she worked at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Ongwanada Hospital and Resource Centre, Ontario Public Health and St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital.
She was a 38-year member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Women’s League.
Grace volunteered in many organizations including Martha’s Table, Salvation Army Thrift Store and Extendicare. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Parish, the Legion of Mary and Divine Mercy.
Mass of Christian burial will take place Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 392 Palace Road, Kingston with a wake prior to mass from 10:30 am until 10:50 am. Cremation will follow. Friends and family are then invited to attend a reception at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd. Please enter through rear Reception Centre doors. Donations to Veronica’s Veil Drop-in Centre c/o St. Mary’s Cathedral, Kingston or Birthright Kingston would be appreciated by the family.
