In his 93rd year, after a life well-lived, Gerry passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Kingston General Hospital.
Son of the late William and Cecilia (Garrah) White. Beloved husband of Irene (Hogan) and cherished father of Heather (Patrick). Loving grandfather of Olivia and Chloe Emond. Dear brother of the late Katherine Hammond (Wilfred), William Jr., and Cecil White. Survived by sister-in-law Joan Fairbanks and brother-in-law Earl Hogan (Shirley). Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Gerry was born and raised on Howe Island. He later became a longtime resident of Kingston, working for DuPont Canada until his retirement. Gerry loved cars, classic country music and visits with family, friends, and neighbors and we can’t forget his sweets! He was known for his quick wit and great sense of humor.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the medical team at Providence Care and Kingston General Hospital (ICU) for their care, compassion and support.
A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 490 Days Rd, Kingston at 11:00 am on Friday, December 1, 2023, with a reception in the church hall to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gerry may be made to the CNIB foundation or the charity of your choice.
