Frederick George Smith

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Fred, surrounded by his loving family. He was sleeping in peace at home when his soul moved on. He would want everyone to know that though it was sooner than he planned, he passed exactly how he wanted.
Fred, loving husband and best friend for over 59 years of Angela (nee Esford). Cherished dad of Renee Lupien, Freddie Smith Jr. (Tanya Clemente) and Laurie Vella. Proud papa of Chantal (Nate), Jeremy (Ciarra), Ryan (Liz), Paris-Marie and Tianna-Sophia, and great papa of Calysta, Ethan, Azaria, Owen, Carson and Bentley.
In keeping with Fred’s wishes cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 11:00 am – 12:50 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life Service in the chapel at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow the ceremony at the funeral home. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Make-A-Wish Canada in Fred’s memory.
