Christine Laplante Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christine Laplante, age 72 on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, at her home in Kingston, ON, with her family by her side.
Christine was born on July 16th, 1951 in Drummondville, Quebec. She married Jean-Pierre Laplante whom she had known since the young age of 14 and together, they lived in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Bruxelles, Belgium and Ottawa, Ontario finally settling in Kingston in 1979. She had a long career as the librarian at Ecole Cathedrale as well as the secretary at Ecole Secondaire Marie-Rivier. She enjoyed the simpler things in life; reading, working on her flower garden and was happiest eating oysters & sipping champagne in the South of France. She loved her family dearly.
Christine is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Jean-Pierre, her daughter Anne-Marie (Neil), her son Jean-Francois (Veronica), and her grand-children Sam & Oli.
Raised in a large Quebecois family, Christine leaves behind many brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her father Henri-Louis Vallée & her mother Marie-Anna Gagnon, her brothers Jean-Rock (Cecile), Gaetan (Annette), Raymond (Celine) & Michel (Richard). She will be missed by her brother Pierre (Colette), and her dear sisters Jocelyne (Francoys) & Diane (Brian).
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Andrew Robinson of the KHSC Cancer Clinic & the Palliative Medicine Outreach Team who provided such compassionate care.
