Longtime employee of Alcan, Retired
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bill Prosser on November 27, 2023, in his 94th year. Bill, son of the late Milo and Blanch (nee Wheeler) Prosser and loving husband of the late Anatolia “Tola”. Dear brother to Clystia “Toni” Somerville (Don), Constance “Connie” Bryon (Pat), and Norma English (Morley). Bill will be deeply missed by nephew Gary Mabee (Bev), nieces Lynn Ross (Stewart), Susan Thompson (Wayne) and Allison Desilet (Mario) and many more family members in Canada and Poland.
Bill worked at the Locomotion Plant then moved to Alcan as a welder, where he retired at the age of 53. Bill loved the outdoors, including hunting, fishing and wood cutting. He also loved working in his shop on many projects.
A special thank you is extended to staff at Carveth for all their wonderful care of Bill.
A graveside service will be held at the Cataraqui Cemetery on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 11:00 am. For those attending please meet at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., at 10:45 am to process to the cemetery. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held following the graveside service in the Celebration Centre of the James Reid Funeral Home, entering from the rear parking lot doors.
