McGill, Mary “Bernice” – Passed away peacefully at Heritage 2, Providence Care Hospital, on Wednesday, August 8, 2024, age 94 years. Bernice McGill (Speerin), beloved wife of the late Donald Arthur McGill, for 57 years. Dear mother of Valerie Cameron (Garry) of Kingston, Vivian Borsella (Salvatore) of Delta, BC and Kevin McGill (Andrea) of Kingston. Loving “Grandma” to Carina Randall née Borsella (Peter), Deanna Zomer née Borsella (Ricky) and Paolo Borsella (Caitlin), and Jason Cameron. “Great Grandma” to Aurora and Wyatt Randell and Levi Zomer. Survived by sister Doreen Stevens of London, Ontario , and the late Raye, Ivan, Lloyd of Orillia, Ontario and Keith Speerin of Barrie, Ontario. Bernice was born in Moonstone, Ontario, April 19, 1930. She is predeceased by parents Clarence and Elizabeth (Lycett) Speerin.
Resting at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard. Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 11:00 am – 12:00 am. Funeral service to follow in the chapel. Reverend Ryan Deyo officiating, Interment Cataraqui Cemetery. Reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the UHKF Cancer Centre or St. Peter’s Anglican Church Building Fund.
