Arthur Michael Slack Obituary
Art was born on March 6, 1945, to Leonard and Josephine Slack (nee Donovan) and went to Heaven on June 1, 2024, at the age of 79.
Art was the high school sweetheart for over 55 years to Carol (nee Mitchell). He is the dear brother of Betty Kelly (late Bill), late Mary Prevost (Linden), and Linda Kivimaki (Pertti). He leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he adored.
Art was a proud member of Kingston JC’s Associated Canadian Travelers, Royal Kingston Curling Club, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 631, RCAFA, 416 Wing Kingston. He was also an avid hockey player, curler, euchre player, storyteller, beloved liquor salesman, and dear friend of many and he will be missed greatly.
There will be a visitation on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 12:00 – 12:50 pm at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston, with a service in the Chapel beginning at 1:00 pm followed by a Reception.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Kingston General Hospital, Davies 4, Amy, Chloe, and Maggie for their care and compassion. Also, thank you to the staff and support at Bayshore Transitional Care Unit in Amherstview over the past few months.
Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Lung Association in Art’s honour.
