Bob pass away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Sunday December 17, 2023, at the age of 85 years. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Myrna (nee Clark), daughter Wendy (Russell) and son Robert “Rob” (Beverly). Grandfather of Zachery, Michael, Connie, Kim and Ashley. Great grandfather to 10 great grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Brenda, cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob is predeceased by his parents, his brother Carl, sister-in-law Barbara and his niece Joanna.
Bob was born in Providence, Rhode Island and came to Canada with his parents, Eleanor (nee Lamarra) and Charles Bova (Bova Shoe Repair on Bank Street). He grew up on St. Andrews Street in Lower Town with a musical family. Bob was an accomplished drummer, becoming a Lifetime Member of the Ottawa-Hull District Federation of Musicians. Bob was also a printer working at Runge Press for most of his career.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at the Salvation Army Church, 2 Oxford Street, Kemptville on Saturday December 30, 2023 at 11 am. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or the Salvation Army.
