Hans Erik Andersen
With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Andersen, Hans Erik, on September 25, 2023, at 80 years of age.
Hans was predeceased by his parents Thora Korsgaard Andersen and Peder Andersen, and his sister Asta and her husband Aksel, and their daughter Alice.
Hans immigrated to Canada in the early 1960’s, from his home country of Denmark. Hans later married Margaret and together had their four sons, Sean, Shane, Steen and Sejr. Together they raised their sons in the town of Brighton.
Hans is lovingly remembered by his sons Sean, Shane (Sonrisa), Steen (Jennifer), and Sejr (Brandon), Jordan (foster-son) and his three wonderful grandchildren Edmund, Graham and Charlotte (parents Steen and Jennifer). Hans also has extended family in Denmark who will miss him dearly.
Hans will be missed greatly by Debra Rowe and her family, and all who knew him.
Hans arrived in Canada knowing little English language and educated himself and later spent over 25 years working for the Town of Whitby. Hans had a love for gardening and antiquing. Hans’ children have fond memories of Hans baking and cake decorating and spending time in his gardens. Hans and Margaret spent 30 year’s fostering dozens of children together. During retirement years Hans helped seniors in the Brighton community, mowing lawns and running errands.
While it was the wish of Hans that there would be no funeral service, all his friends and family are kindly invited to celebrate his life at a reception and luncheon, which is to be held at the North Grenville Community Church, 2659 Concession Rd., Kemptville, on Saturday October 14, 2023 from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Hans will be missed greatly by all who knew him well
